LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION INFORMATION

The McDonnell Academy requires only one letter of recommendation. Applicants are encouraged to use a different recommender from their graduate program application, as the letter required the recommender to speak to your leadership skills, character, and potential rather than academic accomplishments. 

Recommender did not receive request email?

Upon submission, an email including a link to upload the letter is sent to your recommender. Before inquiring about the status of your recommendation:

  • Instruct your recommender to check junk/spam folders.
  • Ensure you have provided the correct email address for your recommender.

Letter of Recommendation Deadline

The letter of recommendation deadline is February 14 at 11:59 PM US Eastern Time. Please ensure your recommender uploads the letter by this date.

Have you applied to an eligible Washington University in St. Louis graduate program?

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the McDonnell Academy fellowship, prospective applicants must apply to an eligible doctoral or master’s degree program . You may visit WashU Graduate, Professional and Advanced Learning to learn more about eligibility, requirements, and to apply to a degree program.

The McDonnell Academy application is accessible only to applicants who have submitted a Washington University in St. Louis graduate degree program application. Before inquiring about how to apply, please visit our Application Instructions webpage to learn more about applying.
