The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) is a public engineering institution located in Hauz Khas, Delhi, India.
Established in 1961, with a vision to contribute to India and the world through excellence in scientific and technical education and research, to serve as a valuable resource for industry and society was formally inaugurated in August 1961 by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Minister of Scientific Research & Cultural Affairs.
IITD aims to generate new knowledge by engaging in cutting-edge research and promote academic growth by offering state-of-the-art undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Collaborative projects which offer opportunities for long-term interaction with academia and industry are an integral part of IITD’s mission.
