Yasemin Sohtorik Ilkmen is an assistant professor of clinical psychology at Bogazici University, Psychology Department. Her research focuses on mechanisms of change in psychoanalytic therapies and transdiagnostic risk factors for mental disorders. She also conducts research on neuropsychological assessment specifically focusing on the measurement of executive functions and development of normative data for Turkish population.
Sohtorik Ilkmen has extensive clinical experience in crisis counseling and trauma work. Her work includes providing mental health interventions for individuals impacted by both natural and human-made disasters. She also has experience working in a psychiatric emergency service as a mental health screener evaluating individuals presenting with severe mental disorders and dangerous behavior.
