Expanding Horizons: Irania Santaliz Moreno Enriches Knowledge at European Conference on Sexual Medicine

Irania Santaliz Moreno recently attended the European Society of Sexual Medicine conference held at the University of Vienna in Austria, an amazing experience that deepened her understanding of onco-sexology and broadened her professional network. “Engaging with leading experts and exploring the latest advancements reinforced my desire to pursue further training in a region with a strong emphasis on sexual health research,” Irania says. “Beyond the academic sessions, I attended demonstrations in support of Slovakia and Ukraine, which provided valuable insight into the intersection of health, policy, and activism. This experience not only expanded my global perspective but also solidified my commitment to advocating for comprehensive sexual health care in oncology.”
Irania, a U.S. Scholar who joined the McDonnell Academy in 2021, is currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Informatics & Data Science in the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences.
