Biography
Dedric A. Carter earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from MIT in electrical engineering and computer science. He earned a doctorate in information systems at Nova Southeastern University, where he later served on the faculty as a visiting assistant professor. In spring 2011, Carter was a senior executive fellow in government at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is pursuing a master’s in business administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management. In his role at Washington University in St. Louis, Carter serves as ambassador-at-large for the McDonnell International Scholars Academy and develops international research partnerships with McDonnell Academy partners; develops graduate, professional certificate and summer programs for international students; and works with corporate partners to provide undergraduate and graduate practice opportunities abroad. He also provides support for entrepreneurship programs in the School of Engineering & Applied Science and teaches as professor of the practice.
