Isaac is a medical doctor from Cameroon who previously worked with the international NGO Doctors Without Borders (DWB) in his home country. He obtained his medical degree from University of Buea in 2020, finishing as valedictorian. Isaac served as class representative for his medicine class and academic officer for his students’ union. Isaac’s academic honors include the Adolphe Monkiedje Fellowship award in 2017, the Cameroon Professional Society Scholar of the year 2015, and the recipient of the annual presidential grant laureate from his home country. Isaac is currently at the Brown School at WashU as a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology/biostatistics) student.

Isaac loves clinical research. In his free time, he plays soccer and watches movies.

Che receives CEESP fellowship from CUNY School of Medicine

Isaac Che is one of two Brown School students awarded the prestigious Cancer Epidemiology Education in Special Populations (CEESP) fellowship from the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine.

CEESP is a research training program funded since 2006 by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It aims to develop the careers of public health students from all public health schools and programs in the U.S. in the field of cancer epidemiology and cancer prevention and control. The CEESP program provides funding to students to conduct mentored cancer research in global and U.S. minority settings.
