John F. McDonnell

John F. McDonnell, in whose honor the International Scholars Academy is named, is the retired chairman of the board of McDonnell Douglas Corporation. He led the company through the early 1990s and retired in 1997 after overseeing the merger of McDonnell Douglas with Boeing to create the world's largest aerospace company.

He is vice chair of the Board of Trustees and life trustee of Washington University and a member of the board of directors of The Boeing Company, and numerous professional and civic organizations. A graduate of Princeton University, he is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
